Wallet Setup
Connect a wallet and get ETH on Base.
You need a crypto wallet connected to the Base network to own pieces, enter tournaments, and play rated games. If you are new to crypto, the simplest path is signing in with an email or social account directly in the app. A wallet is created for you automatically with no browser extension required.
If you already have a wallet, you can connect it instead. Either way, your pieces and game history are tied to that wallet address.
Connect any Base-compatible wallet — MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, or any WalletConnect-supported wallet. Pieces and game history associate with your wallet address.
A wallet connection is only required for bidding in auctions, playing rated games, or entering tournaments. You can explore the app as a guest without one.
Getting ETH on Base
Auctions, gas fees, and any on-chain transactions require ETH on the Base network, not ETH on Ethereum mainnet. Base is an Ethereum Layer 2, so gas costs are very low. Most in-game actions cost a fraction of a cent.
How to get ETH on Base:
- Bridge from Ethereum mainnet — Bridge from Ethereum mainnet using the official Base Bridge.
- Buy directly — Coinbase allows withdrawals directly to Base.
A small starting amount goes a long way. You can read piece information and browse the site without connecting a wallet. A wallet is only required to bid, play rated games, or enter tournaments.
